My New Job

So, about my new job.... here's the scoop.  I love teaching ESL but the company is going through some financial trouble and my boss is certifiably crazy.  (He once gave a 30 minute lecture in our staff meeting using the analogy of the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.  He's inappropriate.) He's a month behind on payroll and keeps expecting us to do extra work at home for no pay.  Every request is "mandatory" and it was getting really annoying so I started looking for something else.  I truly loved most of my students and my coworkers but I needed a change.
I applied to be the ESL technician at Payson High and Parkview (Lucy's school) and interviewed with the principal and the district guy.  He really liked me but needed someone who speaks Spanish to translate at Parent Teacher Conferences (not in the job description).  He put the job listing back up and said that if he didn't get someone better then he'd hire me.  Nice.
So my neighbor is moving and she said "You should apply for my job at American Prep".  She set up the interview for the next day and it went fabulously and he hired me on the spot.  I will be a 5th grade Instructor, which is a glorified teacher's aide.  I will teach small groups spelling, math, and reading and do whatever the teacher wants.  There is no extra prep at home or lesson planning.  It's full time and the same wage I got before.  I'm excited because I'm taking a Statistics class right now online and I will take 2 Psychology classes after Christmas so I need a job that doesn't require extra work at home, which is basically the life of a teacher.  I'm planning to apply to Utah State University in February to start a Master's in School Counselling.  I was going to get my teaching license but decided not to.  As an academic adviser  I can still help students but in a different way.  It's all keeping me busy which is what I need.  Now - I need an update on 2 babies coming and Mary's vacation to Edmonton!
