Jane's Christmas Exhibit

Today we had such a fun time at the Springville Art Museum.  Every year they have a children's Christmas exhibit focusing on giving instead of receiving.  Everyone in Jane's art class submitted a drawing.  In all of Utah county their were 450 entries and 150 were chosen to be in the exhibit.  The judges choose Jane's picture and another girl's picture from our school.  She is very excited about it and we are very proud of her.  It is a pencil drawing of a present box with a doll, a rocking horse, a teddy bear, a train, and a scarf with mittens.

Baby Enzo

Lorenzo’s Birth Story

On October 24 I was 5 days over my due date with this little baby, and I finally began to have contractions at 9am every 5-15minutes until around 1pm when the contractions went from 3-8 minutes apart.  Mike and I were getting really excited that we will be having this baby soon and we started cleaning the house and van like crazy.  At around 5pm the contractions are getting more intense but not closer.  By 7pm I could not talk while a contraction was happening and I needed to breath through it.  I kept waiting for them to be closer together but by 10pm I said “Mike call your mom and dad, it’s time to go to the hospital.”  As soon as we got to the hospital  the contractions got closer together about 1-3 min. Apart.  When we had Roxy we also got to the hospital at 10pm, and I didn’t want to have the baby at 5am so I decided not to lay in the bed and walk around.  I kept walking around the room until my water broke.  My water has never broken naturally before and that was weird/awesome.  I then went on the bed and things started to get intense.  It’s midnight at this point and I said to Mike “I think we will see this baby at 2am”.  They had me turn around on the bed on my knees to even  out the pressure of the baby on my cervix.  I was given the gas and it wasn’t long before I could feel the baby coming.  I turned around and they began giving me fentinall for the pain.  I was breathing very heavily on the gas and starting to get really scared about this baby actually coming out.  I now am beginning to do very little pushes and they took the gas away from me.  Then I got serious and did one big push and the baby came out in that one big push.  The nurses were trying to get me to stop but I couldn’t, and I’m pretty sure I woke up the whole hospital with the loudest scream ever.  Lorenzo Fredrick McCullough was born at 12:39am on October 25 2015, weighing 7lbs 14.5 ounces.  They placed him on my chest and I held him for a little while before they needed to check him and count his toes.  I began crying from the shock of everything happening so fast and feeling so grateful to have this baby finally here.  Mike held my hand and got me ice, or water when I needed and was perfect in every way.  He was so clever by bringing his own hospital bag full of things to eat and drink.  Ones the doctor was finished with Enzo we walked over to our room and I got to do my favourite thing of lying in bed and looking at this new baby that I love so much.

Enzo is now 8 days old and is doing amazing.  He weighs 8lbs and 2 ounces today and is eating and sleeping very well.  He is perfect in every way!

Hello All,

As you all know from the 7 of Sept to the 14th Dad's work shut down so we decided to do a  ROAD TRIP WHOOO HOOOO!!! It was lots of fun and I wanted to blog the trip so here goes.
We drove the first day to Payson and stayed over night. It was so fun to see Suzy's new house and the girls. They were all going to school and new job. Dave has a beautiful yard, big garage and man cave for secret projects. You will not recognize how grown up these pretty girls are.

We got up the next morning and drove down the mojave desert to Palm Springs. I got pictures of the Joshua tree cactus but they are on dads phone. Dad loves that road as you all know but this was the first time he drove it in 40 C while raining.

We got to the house and |Jim came out with strawberries and tri tip roast .Gotta love him for that. He made his famous pico de giao (salsa) which we loved. MaryAnn and Adam came out over night which was so great. We swam in the pool and played Rook, which by the way was awesome. Adam is now a professional.

Dad and Jim took care of some of Grandmas business and Jim and the Lawsons left Thursday night. We got up Friday morning and headed for Suzy's. It was short but very SWEET.
We made it in time for Suzy's 38th birthday. We went through the beautiful Payson temple, had lunch at Cafe Rio or something like that, hiked up the Graddo and went to 2 movies. It was so much fun.

Man it was great to see everyone. We all live tooooo far apart. After church on Sunday afternoon we started the long drive home. It was good to leave a little early so Dad could rest up before work. We are back to work now and life is kinda boring but Dad is fine, he has a good book to read.

Thanks Adam!!

We traveled 5000 km. it was a long way in 7 days. We were grateful for the protection and safety we had.

I am leaving for Denver on Monday the 28th. I'm doing my own sisters week with both my sisters and I'm very excited. Diane reminds me so much of my mother that I really feel close to her when I'm around her.
We are so excited about our two new babies coming October and November and can't wait to meet them in person. Anxious to hear about David's new work, website and FB page. Please blog and share all your news.
Love you all and miss you !!

Pearl Meldrum

For those of you who don't know Pearl well, she's a riot. She is nice, smiley, likes everyone, and is a major trouble maker. She will only do what she wants to. Here she is in her glory. If the first few seconds don't have sound, hang on...you're only missing the part where I talk.

Owen's in Gr.1!

Owen is back at Maple Bay Elementary and couldn't be happier.  He and his Dad just went camping this Labor Day Weekend with friends from our ward.  Owen learned how to dirt bike all by himself and LOVED it!  Owen has also had the best summer full of camping with family, riding bikes with his friends on our street, finding frogs, snakes and bugs under every rock in our neighbourhood.  Fall is now here and we are ready to start a new school year.  All the Best Buddy!

My New Job

So, about my new job.... here's the scoop.  I love teaching ESL but the company is going through some financial trouble and my boss is certifiably crazy.  (He once gave a 30 minute lecture in our staff meeting using the analogy of the letter of the law and the spirit of the law.  He's inappropriate.) He's a month behind on payroll and keeps expecting us to do extra work at home for no pay.  Every request is "mandatory" and it was getting really annoying so I started looking for something else.  I truly loved most of my students and my coworkers but I needed a change.
I applied to be the ESL technician at Payson High and Parkview (Lucy's school) and interviewed with the principal and the district guy.  He really liked me but needed someone who speaks Spanish to translate at Parent Teacher Conferences (not in the job description).  He put the job listing back up and said that if he didn't get someone better then he'd hire me.  Nice.
So my neighbor is moving and she said "You should apply for my job at American Prep".  She set up the interview for the next day and it went fabulously and he hired me on the spot.  I will be a 5th grade Instructor, which is a glorified teacher's aide.  I will teach small groups spelling, math, and reading and do whatever the teacher wants.  There is no extra prep at home or lesson planning.  It's full time and the same wage I got before.  I'm excited because I'm taking a Statistics class right now online and I will take 2 Psychology classes after Christmas so I need a job that doesn't require extra work at home, which is basically the life of a teacher.  I'm planning to apply to Utah State University in February to start a Master's in School Counselling.  I was going to get my teaching license but decided not to.  As an academic adviser  I can still help students but in a different way.  It's all keeping me busy which is what I need.  Now - I need an update on 2 babies coming and Mary's vacation to Edmonton!

Back to School

Hi Everyone!  That trip to Shuswap looked amazing.  This family has the cutest kids EVER!  Here's a picture of Annie driving.  She got her learner's permit this summer.

And a picture of Lucy in her adorable school uniform.  I got a new job at American Preparatory Academy so I transferred Lucy there to be with me.  I start on Tuesday.  Jane will have to post a selfie for you soon. (I'm so bad at taking pictures, Dave had to send these to me from his phone.)
Hello Family,
I have been trying to figure out how to stay more connected and so I decided it might be fun to have a family blog where we could place pictures and videos and letters and stay better connected. I hope you will all join in. We had a wonderful camping trip and thanks to Jim we got some good pictures. I hope you will share some of the things you did this summer.

I hope you will put pictures of school starting. Everyone is growing so fast and changing so much.
This weekend Ken and Tina and Brad are flying in to visit with Grandma. It will be wonderful to see them and visit. Last weekend I spoke in Stake Conference on Saturday evening. Out of the blue they called Dad out of the audience to speak on Sabbath Day and the sacrament. It was a bit of a shocker but he did great.(somehow I got itallicized).
Cant wait to hear from you all.
